1. Our Commitment
Makai US Group LLC is committed to protecting your privacy. We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate our platforms and never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
2. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to all Makai US Group LLC websites and platforms, including makaiusgroup.com, the Makai Intelligence Terminal, and the MBI Budget Intelligence System. Each platform may also publish a product-specific privacy notice with additional detail.
3. Data We Collect
- Account Data: Email address and encrypted password when you register for any Makai platform.
- Profile Data: Name or display name if provided during onboarding.
- Usage Data: Login timestamps, feature interactions, and error logs used for system stability and product improvement.
- User-Generated Content: Data you actively input into our platforms (trade journal entries, project measurements, budget data). This data belongs to you.
- Billing Data: Subscription status managed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers on our servers.
- Contact Inquiries: Name and email submitted through contact forms on makaiusgroup.com.
4. How We Use Your Data
- To create and authenticate your account
- To deliver and operate the platform features you access
- To process payments and manage your subscription
- To respond to support and contact inquiries
- To send transactional emails (billing receipts, service alerts, password resets)
- To improve our products using aggregated, anonymized usage data
5. Third-Party Services
- Stripe: Payment processing. Your payment data is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Supabase: Secure cloud database for account and platform data storage.
- Anthropic (Claude AI): AI-powered analysis features in MBI. Inputs are processed per Anthropic's API usage policy and are not used to train models.
- Railway / Netlify: Hosting infrastructure for platform delivery.
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising tracking tools.
6. Data Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption). Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. User data is isolated per account and not accessible to other users. We apply industry-standard security practices across all platforms.
7. Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account remains active. Upon account deletion, personal data is permanently removed within 30 days. Billing records may be retained up to 7 years for legal and tax compliance under Texas and federal law.
8. Your Rights
- Access: Request a copy of your stored data at any time by emailing us.
- Correction: Update your account information via your account settings.
- Deletion: Delete your account from Settings. All personal data will be removed within 30 days.
- Portability: Export your data before closing your account using available export tools.
- Opt-Out: Unsubscribe from non-transactional marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link.
9. Cookies
Our platforms use only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
10. Children's Privacy
Our platforms are intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we become aware a minor has registered, the account will be immediately terminated and data removed.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify active users by email of material changes. Continued use of any Makai platform after updates constitutes acceptance.
